Coraopolis Kaboom Playground

On Friday May 15, 2015 volunteers from Coraopolis Youth Creations, Duquesne Light, and the Coraopolis Borough will build a great new place for the kids to play in ONE day! The project is in collaboration with KaBoom, the national nonprofit dedicated to giving kids the childhood they deserve by bringing play to those who need it most.
On Thursday, March 26, 2015 we held our project kickoff meeting which started with children from Coraopolis having the opportunity to design the playground of their dreams and share their designs with representatives from KaBoom, Duquesne Light, and the Coraopolis Borough. Following the Designing, a planning meeting was held to prepare for all that needs to be done leading up to our first prep day on May 13, through our build day on May 15.
One of the biggest pieces to having The Shelley Jones Memorial Playground rebuilt on Friday May 15 is for the community of Coraopolis to come together and collectively raise $8, 500.
