Cops and Kids Events

Harlem Mothers S.A.V.E was formed in 2006 by Jackie Rowe-Adams Co-Founder with the support of New York State Assemblyman, Keith L.T Wright. Mrs. Rowe-Adams lost two of her children to gun violence. One child was lost on February of 1982, her second child was 17-year-old son Anthony murdered outside a bodega at 123rd Street in Harlem by two young men who believed that Anthony had been staring at them. Her second child Tyrone, age 28 at the time, was shot to death by a thirteen-year-old during a robbery outside his apartment in the city of Baltimore, Maryland.  

“One of our goals at Harlem Mothers S.A.V.E. is to let families know about where and how these guns are getting to our children...Many parents are still surprised about where kids can get them, but bodegas, certain housing projects and city parks have all been identified as locations where gun sales take place.” –Mrs. Jackie Rowe-Adams.

You donations will ensure future "Cops and Kids" events, these events are for children 10 years and under, in the event children interact with police officers and learn their role in their community. The purpose of these fun events is to familiarize children with police officers and to eliminate any fear children has toward polices officers.  We are counting on your donations and remember your donations are tax deductible.
