Clare's Marathon fundraising page
Thank you for visiting my fundraising page.
In June 2009 I found out that my chances of having children were very slim, a blood test indicated that I was probably running out of eggs. My consultant couldn't explain why this had happened to me and I realised that many questions remain unanswered about the causes of infertility.
In December 2009, after our second IVF attempt we were surprised and delighted to find I was pregnant with twins and on the 25th July 2010, exactly a month early, Scout and Daisy were born.
I feel so lucky that I have been able to experience something many other people can take for granted. I tell my girls how much I love them every day and strive to be the best mum I can be to them.
My life is complete but I feel for anybody affected by infertility and I particularly fear for Scout and Daisy's future, it is possible that they could have fertility problems too. I just hope that through research we will be able to offer more information and treatments for infertile couples in years to come.
I am running the London Marathon on April 21st 2013 to raise money for more research into infertility. I will be passing your donations on to a charity called the Rachel Foundation.
The Rachel Foundation is a research based charity that focuses on developing therapies for infertile couples.
