Chicago: The Musical

Donation protected
After three years of rebuilding, Mrs. Fuller and Capital High School’s Golden Guild Theater Group is ready to burst onto the Boise stage!

They hope to partner with their school’s musically talented students to bring one of the most fun, most energetic and most ambitious musicals to their dedicated and growing audience and to show Boise that the faculty and students of Capital High School are some of the brightest stars in the area.

The Golden Guild doesn’t want just any play; they want a musical. They want “Chicago”!

This is a big undertaking, but the young men and women of Capital High are up to the challenge. They are excited and ready to work.  They know that under Mrs. Fuller’s direction they will shine.

In fact, Mrs. Fuller is a shining star in her own right. She has directed students from Centennial High and Capital High to nine State Drama Championships and thirteen District III Drama Championships. She is currently an elected Idaho Speech Arts Representative on the Idaho High School Activities Association Board of Control. As if that’s not quite enough, she has also received multiple Teacher of the Year Awards and was inducted into the Idaho Speech Arts Hall of Fame in 2008.

But no matter how capable the director, no matter how enthusiastic the actors, they still need help. They all know that a great production is only as great as its partnerships. Mrs. Fuller and the Golden Guild have found their musical partners in Mr. Simmonds, Capital’s choir teacher with thirteen years of teaching experience and his talented music students. Capital’s Ms. Zumwalt has enthusiastically joined the musical team too and will put her musical ears to work selecting music for the show. Without the strong support and musical prowess of Mr. Simmonds and Ms. Zumwalt, this project could not even be considered.

Other community partnerships are in the works for stage design, set building and choreography. But before any of this can happen they need to purchase the rights to the script.

They’re off to a great start but they’re still going to need a great group of financial partners.
