GET CHRISTOPHER TO SXSW (Austin)
Greetings Family & Friends,
My name is Christopher Salyer and I am an aspiring alt-country/roots performer from Bowling Green, OH. I have had the pleasure of performing all over the midwest opening for some of my heroes such as: Two Cow Garage, Austin Lucas, Jake Bellows, Cheap Girls, Guided by Voices, Ed McGee, The Menzingers, Kris Roe, The Goddamn Gallows and many more.
I am currently planning a trip to perform an important music industry conference known as "SXSW - South by Southwest" in Austin, Texas this month. This is one of the largest music festivals in the country. I will be performing at Fado's Irish Pub in Austin, TX on Saturday March 21st for the TigerDuck Music SXSW Showcase. In order to do so however, I need to raise $1,000.
In December of 2014, I left my job at a large Pharmaceutical manufacturer to pursue a career with a food manufacturer. I left a great salary/benefits as the new opportunity would allow me to spend more time with my family. Little did I know that they would let me go and I would find myself unemployed.
This brings us to today. Life has a funny way of working out and perhaps losing my job paved the way for this once in a lifetime opportunity to happen. This isn't an east decision to make as I've been interviewing with other companies and my resources are extremely limited.
As a solo/independent artist, it isn't easy funding travel expenses, room and board, so I set up this GoFundMe to give you all chance to help me along my journey. Any amount helps. I am more than grateful for your continous support.
Going to this conference will allow me to network with many industry professionals and provide me a chance to really show myself to the greater music industry. By helping out you will be helping an aspiring artist knock an item off my bucket list.
