Kenya Mobile Technology Development

During the summer of 2012 I had the opportunity to visit the country of Kenya, in the continent of Africa. My visit had the objective of implamenting the usage of iPad's in the classroom. I had the responsibility to model to teachers how to use the iPad's as a form of instruction, supporting struggling students, and a tool to allow them to efficiently use their time for more student support. 

Unfortunately, the type of professional development was limited to show the teachers and students how to use the iPad's and iPod touches in the most basic form without wifi. Now, the campus has wifi and the iPad's need to have their operating system updated, along with installing apps that will only enhance the education for Daraja Academy.

The opportunity to change the impact of technology in school serves as a model for many other schools in the country.
