Chatham Social Health Council provides FREE HIV/STD testing, prevention and education in Chatham, Lee, Randolph, Alamance, Orange, Durham and Wake Counties. Chatham will be providing bi-lingual case management services to people living with HIV/AIDS starting in 2015. Chatham is raising funds to purchase a second "condom mobile" which will increase their ability to provide these much needed services in the rural NC counties that we serve.
Our goals are to:
Purchase a second "condom mobile" to increase our ability to provide prevention & education services to rural NC counties.
Increase knowledge about facts related to HIV/STD infection rates and trends, modes of infection and methods of disease prevention.
Increase the knowledge of HIV risk reduction skills (correct condom application, safer sex negotiation, etc)
Increase the adoption of safer sex skills among priority populations.
Increase the number of people that know their HIV and STD status.
Link people to care services which may include case management, mental health services, referrals to infectious disease medical providers along with assisting people to stay in care services.
