Chapel vandalism restoration

Holy Apostles Orthodox Church is a parish of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside Russia, meeting in Beltsville, MD. Our mission is to spread the Word and bring the full cycle of Orthodox life to our community in the English language.

On the night of April 19, 2017, vandals sprayed the exterior of the chapel with orange paint. The historic brickwork had recently undergone $40,000 in repairs and repointing.

This work was made possible only through donations and historic preservation grants. The best price quoted to remove the graffiti while protecting the historic structure is $2750.



Because the chapel is undergoing renovation and is not occupied, the damage is not covered by our insurance.

If you feel led to help offset the costs of remediation and to bring life back to our chapel, we ask now for your generosity.

Any surplus beyond the $2750 masonry restoration will be applied to the building fund for future work necessary to make the chapel habitable.

We pray always for the health and well-being of our benefactors, just as we pray for those who attacked our church on April 19.
