Back Chagossian fight for justice

On April 9th I’ll be doing the Rotterdam marathon. And for that sentence to make any sense, I’ll need you to sponsor me. I’m doing this to raise money for UK Chagos Support Association, a small entirely voluntary group committed to supporting the Chagos Islanders community, who were exiled from their homeland in the 60s & 70s by the US and UK, in order to make way for a military base.

Here's a short video about that all-too-little known history, from a Chagossian protest at Downing Street earlier this year.
Since then the Chagossian community has sadly very frequently suffered from poverty, split families and severe discrimination as a direct consequence of that exile.
UK Chagos Support Association does valuable work not only supporting the fight for justice, but helping the Chagossian community succeed in exile. It is an entirely voluntary organisation, and I am one of those volunteers, so you can be sure your donation is going straight to the work supporting the community.
