Maia's Celebration of Life

Donation protected
Help give our loving Grandmother an amazing farewell with a special “Celebration of Life” ceremony.

Our beloved Grandmother, Maia (Marlene) Frances Holden Abdulky died peacefully in her Petaluma, CA home on October 2, 2014. Born December 29, 1933 in Fresno, CA she graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1952 and at 19 married the love of her life, Albert Abdulky.

Maia was a long time teacher at Unity Church & then became the Director of Youth Education at Unity Village for many years. She continued to do her work alongside her husband, Albert, who was a Unity minister in Stockton, CA, San Antonio, TX and Kansas City, MO. Maia became an ordained minister herself and established the Spiritual Truth Center in Stockton, CA with her husband in 1990. Maia spent her life spreading unconditional love & compassion to her children, grandchildren, friends, members of her congregation & anyone else who needed light in their lives.

Maia lived a humble life of servitude and gave to all of those around her. Thus, no money was left behind to throw a well-deserved ceremony to celebrate the life of an amazing woman who touched the hearts & souls of all who came in contact with her. Just days before she passed, Maia shared with her family a vision of a beautiful “celebration of life” service filled with family, friends, flowers, music and love. We would love to make Maia’s final wish a reality, any donation is welcome and any leftover funds will be donated to hospice of Petaluma who helped make Maia’s final days peaceful. Thank you so much for your time and generosity.

With Love,

The Abdulky/Franco/Garr family
