Laptop for Akatim Village School

Tax deductible
When you ask John Pingle why he accepted the position for Headmaster at the Akatim Village School, he responds immediately with a furrowed brow and an expression that appears confused. It softens to the gentle and stern face you’ll see in his pictures. In his mind, he explains, the opportunity was one he had been waiting for his whole life. That’s when you realize what an exceptionally driven and inspiring person with whom you’re speaking.

At  The Senase Project , we believe at a core level that eradication of poverty comes from community development. John Pingle embodies that concept, and has since day one. Going door-to-door visiting the families of our students after school, he has increased our student enrollment and PTA attendance by explaining the value of education to parents, most of whom never had the opportunity to attend school growing up.

Since then, The Akatim Village School itself has benefitted greatly from his leadership. And now, we’re asking you to help. One person can make a difference, and Mr. Pingle has shown us that. We need your donation, no matter how small, to help give back to an individual who’s truly gone above and beyond what it means to nurture the next generation of thinkers and doers of the Akatim Village School and the global community as a whole.

By donating to this campaign, you can help us finance the purchase of a laptop computer and portable solar charging station for our school’s Headmaster. Mr. Pingle has managed to change the lives of our students tremendously. He’s raised our organization’s standards to new heights, and impacted our lives for the better -- all without electricity or digital connectivity.

Some benefits of this computer include:

1. Provides a direct source of connection between the Akatim Village School and The Senase Project, enhancing the quality and effeciency of collaboration

2. Saves time to allow more focus on the quality of education being delivered at the school. Mr. Pingle spends his weeknds traveling to internet cafes to correspond with our organization. By having a computer, he can communicate more efficiently from the comfort of his own office and focus more of his attention to the school.

3. Serves as a resource for the IT class. When our team was in Ghana last April, the IT teacher was drawing keyboards on the chalkboard to show what a real computer would look like. This class is part of the curriculum for the National Exam and the students would greatly benefit from gaining experiential learning with a computer.

This computer would benefit everyone at the school; staff and students alike. We see a bright future for our students through the brilliant mind of Mr. Pingle. If you see the same, we would ask you to join us in making it possible by giving today. Thank you.
