The Cat Rescue shelter, located in Brussels, Belgium (Europe) is only working thanks to donations, and even if we have lowered prices at the vet, we still have monthly bills of more than 3,000 dollars.
You can easily understand that having to stop rescuing sick, disabled and abused cats only for a matter of money is infuriating.
We've rescued more than 400 cats and kittens in the last two years, with more than 300 adoptions. At the moment (September 17th 2013) we still have 70+ kittens and 50+ cats to take care of. We also have DAILY calls for cats in need of care and/or treatments.
We sterilize/spay stray cats daily at the cost of 67$ per cat. For stray cats in bad condition, we give them care/treatment.
Disabled or abused cats are rescued and put in foster families or in the shelter, and put for adoption after they received treatments, high quality food and most of all love and cuddles.
All the cats are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, treated against fleas and given treatments if sick (e.g. rhinitis, calicivirus, parvovirus,...). The average cost per cat is 90-110$.
