Baby Caroline's Heart Fund

This fund is for my Granddaughter Caroline Wert Sykes, she was born on Sept. 5th of 2014 at UAB Womens and Childrens Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama.  She was born with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS)

This is a severe congenital heart defect in which the left side of the heart is underdeveloped. The left side of the heart has the job of pumping oxygenated blood into the aorta, the large artery that carries blood to the body.
When she was born her mother was able to hold her for a precious two minutes and then she was rushed to Childrens next door to under go the first procedure of her young life.
Her first surgery, the Sano Norwood procedure (major open heart surgery),was done at four days old. Caroline has been at Childrens of Alabama in the CVICU ever since. Recently she has developed worsening tricuspid valve regurgitation and will need a valve repair soon.  She is also in the process of being listed for a heart transplant.
Any money that can be raised for them and Baby Caroline would be an extreme blessing. It will go towards living and travel expenses. God Bless you all and if you came to this site and read this and don't have the money to give,  would you do the next best thing and please pray for Caroline that God will help heal her so that she will live a long life and make Him proud. If you need to verify this story before you give or even pray, I believe Childrens has her listed as Baby Girl Wert (paperwork), now I don't know if the hospital will even tell you if she is there, but if this was shared to you by a friend or family member that you trust call or message that friend or family member and verify me with them!!
