Help us reach out to individuals and families in Detroit and Flint who are in desperate need of medical, dental and vision care. Together with Care Harbor, you can make a lasting difference in thousands of lives.
Care Harbor is a 501(c)(3) charity that combines the talents and expertise of healthcare professionals, event organizers, a network of volunteer professionals, and support organizations. It was founded in 2010 with the vision that large free clinic events could provide sustainable as well as episodic care and create lasting change in the lives of the people served.
With the help of volunteer doctors, dentists and other professionals, we transform arenas and other large venues into working clinics capable of treating thousands of people in the space of a few days.The Detroit free clinic event will have 40 dental chairs, 10 vision lanes, 15 primary care and specialty care exam rooms, a woman’s health section and many other resources. We handle high patient volume smoothly and efficiently while creating a compassionate, welcoming environment.
For those who live without access to the care they need our clinic events are a destination for help and hope. Our mission is to promote the health and wellbeing of underserved populations by creating new pathways to accessible, sustainable care. As part of this mission, we provide the follow-up care and prevention resources that help to create lasting change in the lives of the people we serve. Our goal is that those who pass through Care Harbor today will not need to return tomorrow.
For the last 6 years, we've had our clinics in the Los Angeles area. This year things will be a little bit different because we're going to add a new clinic location to our list. We're headed out to Detroit!
Because Flint is close to Detroit, we're on a mission to raise enough money to extend the days of the upcoming Care Harbor clinic and invite the victims of the Flint water crisis to join us. Our goal is to raise enough funds to provide the Flint community with enough bus transportation to our free clinic to receive the healthcare and basic necessities they so desperately deserve. While at the Care Harbor Detroit clinic, everyone who is registered as a patient has the opportunity to receive free dental fillings, extractions and teeth cleaning, eye exams, prescription glasses, medical evaluations and procedures, as well as immunizations and screenings.
After receiving services, patients who need follow-up care will be referred to community clinics and practices that have volunteered to help. Our goal is to provide a medical home for everyone who needs one. Patients will receive appointments before they leave the venue.

For every dollar you donate, we deliver many times that amount in value of care, thanks to the thousands of healthcare professionals who volunteer their time and talents, along with healthcare organizations that donate supplies and equipment.
