Capital Cares-Hurricane Harvey Fund
Donation protected
Due to the overwhelming devastation around Houston due to Hurricane Harvey, the associates of Capital Senior Living, with the company’s support, have established the Capital Cares Assistance Fund. This fund provides financial assistance to residents and employees of our Waterford at Deer Park and Waterford at Baytown communities, who have been displaced by this disaster. Both facilities are temporarily closed due to ongoing flooding which has impacted the homes for our residents and income for our employees, who may also be going through personal loss.
A selection committee led by company managers and representing a diverse cross section of CSL employees will oversee the fund and review any assistance applications. 100% of the amount received will go directly to residents and employees in need. The goal of the committee will be to use 50% for resident need and 50% for employee need. Specific eligibility criteria will be developed by the review committee and could include the following for eligible participants.
The fund provides one-time grants up to $2,000 to help employees pay for expenses such as:
*Rent or mortgage for your primary home.
*A security deposit for a new apartment or rental home.
*Temporary shelter if your home is uninhabitable.
*Gas, water or electric utilities.
*Food and clothing.
The fund provides one-time grants up to $2,000 to help our senior residents pay for expenses such as:
*Replacing furnishings
*Food and clothing
*Temporary shelter or relocation expenses
