Athletic Complex

Camp Arrowhead is a beautiful year round campground on the Brazos River near Glen Rose, Texas, owned and operated by the Church of the Nazarene since 1953.  At full capacity the campground can house 550 guests overnight and 63 acres allows ample space for indoor and outdoor activities.  Camp Arrowhead served 4000 guests last year.  A non profit organization, the campground funds itself through donations and rental fees.  Our motto is "Explore nature...   Experience God."

Over the years the campground has grown and added improvements including a large motel style Lodge, pool, challenge course, activity center for indoor sports and playground area.  Growth has also created some issues.  Addition of the large pool created a loss of space for any type of team sports or ball games--softball, baseball, football, cricket.  The good news is the campground has space for not just a ball field but an Athletic Complex and the location adjacent to FM 199 is easily accessible for use by campground guests and community guests as well as ample space for parking.

The complex is envisioned to include both softball and football fields with a field house that would have a snack area, bathrooms and observation deck.  Just an empty field at this point, but some ground work has been done, survey markers are ready to be placed and utility infrastructure installation has begun.

One donor has enabled the process to begin with a generous gift.  However, the project cannot be completed without additional revenue.  Please consider donating to Camp Arrowhead for the purpose of funding an Athletic Complex.  The campground has been approached three times in the past two years for pre season athletic camps.  Completion of the complex would allow those camps to be realized.  Several area teams are in need of practice areas and completion of the complex would meet those needs.
