New Happyland Site

To all friends, family, former and future volunteers. After many discussions and much deliberation we have a new vision for Happyland. It is still our dream to own land in the future, but realistically that is a very long term goal. As many of you know, the past year has been a struggle financially. The rent we pay has drastically increased, we have just about been making ends meet and it is not sustainable.
Our immediate goal is to be financially stable and reduce our outgoings. There is a property very close to Happyland with a lot of land and a great deal of potential. The landlord had agreed to rent it to us for 1/3 of what we are currently paying. They will fix the rent for a minimum of 5 years, so there will be no increase. Also we will have the freedom to build, create a vegetable garden, create play spaces, install solar panels etc.
At present our play/classroom space is limited, we don’t have complete freedom to develop the project and our outgoings are much too high. The new site gives us an exciting opportunity to truly establish Happyland and create a sustainable future. The money we save on rent will allow us to provide more opportunities for the young people and wider community that we are here for. It is not certain but there is also a possibility that we could buy the site in the future.
All donations will be used to develop the project focusing on sustainability and self sufficiently. With your help we can make this dream a reality.

CAHCC stands for Charity Association Helping Cambodia's Children. The goal of CAHCC is to alleviate poverty and suffering for the children of Cambodia by providing a safe haven for children. HappyLand is one wing of CAHCC, and was opened on 19th November 2015.
Happyland’s Mission is to help the children and community of Prey Sandek and surrounding area have a better future.
The Vision of Happyland is to provide a safe, fun, and educational environment where children can come play, create, learn, and improve themselves. Through the help of volunteers and with support from the community, we will help children work to achieve their dreams.
It is a community centre, school, and safe space for the children of Prey Sandek and beyond. Here, they can participate in a wide range of educational activities, (depending on the skill set and passion of the volunteers) while enjoying a safe and welcoming environment in which to play and make friends, both with each other and volunteers.

The purpose of our campaign is to establish Happyland as a sustainable project for the future of the young people and local community that we work with. The funds raised will be used to buy land and build a house to include classrooms, play space, volunteer accommodation, kitchen, toilets, garden with hydroponics and solar panels.
We need the funds as soon as possible so that we can make offers on prospective sites. With your help we can continue our work, providing opportunities for the young people we work with to achieve their dreams and have a brighter future. Your support will be very much appreciated and we will be extremely thankful for your help enabling us to achieve our goal.
