We're planning a musical tour to Ireland in 2015 and we need your help to get there! Our goal is to help 30 singers (of our 70+!), or as many as we can, to go on this once~in~a~lifetime musical journey! One of our venues will be the historic St. Patrick's Cathedral in Dublin! We'll travel to the west and sing in the stunning Kylemore Abbey and visit their lovely gardens! We'll travel to the Blarney Castle and kiss that stone. At this writing, we're working on the opportunity to sing in the US Embassy while there! We'll be guided by the amazing tour organizer, Harmony International, and led by internationally acclaimed, Joseph Martin.
We'll be singing his work, other American composers and even the work of Irish composer, Michael McGlynn, Founder & Conductor for Anuna! This trip will be rich in music, history and the Irish culture! We'll also be singing to heal, as it is part of our mission. Our plan is to sing for a women's shelter and children's hospital while there as part of our service~led goal.
Why are we asking for your help? Have you heard these women sing? SoCo Women's Chorus is entering her 3rd season and we have grown from 50 to over 70 singers from all walks of life: professional women, stay~at~home Moms, students, nurses, teachers and former law enforcers. All have come together to create amazing music and we want to cross the Big Pond to share it!
I DO hope you'll help SoCo Women's Chorus by making a donation to this travel fund! $5 or $500, it ALL helps (It's that "It-Takes-A-Village-Thing! A cute little Irish village!!)
