the St. Louis "arch-nemesis"

I made my first call to 911 today. After raising boys the last 18 years, I'd say that's pretty amazing. But the reason was not what you'd think.

Today, as our family was traveling back from spending thanksgiving with family in Missouri, we stopped for an hour to visit the St. Louis arch. Upon coming  down,  we had the priveledge of meeting 2 homeless (& cold) gentlemen. We decided to get them a cup of coffee and got to pray with them. After leaving the coffee shop and returning to our vehicle, we found we had become a victim of a "smash & grab".  Someone had busted in a window in our van and stolen our family's 3 laptops & Judah's laptop & iPod (along with all our cases, accessories, and computer bag.)

Commence 911 call.

After spending hours filing police reports and talking with our insurance company, it appears we will be left footing the entire bill for replacing the stolen  items.

We have calculated the cost to replace these items will be $2500

Please prayerfully consider donating to help us replace these items.  We've created this Go Fund Me account in hopes of replacing our laptops as quickly as possible.

On a shameless bragging parental side note, each one of our boys impressed us with their attitudes toward the situation today. This was Levi's (age 15) response in his Facebook status: "There's nothing like meeting two awesome homeless people holding a sign that says "smile" than treating them to Starbucks coffee in St. Louise, then coming out to find that your car was broken into with 4 computers and an iPod stolen. But how can you be mad when you just finished talking to two people who have nothing, than you lose a few things. (I'm still pissed though) we gave the homeless people 2 blankets and a pillow. Please keep them in your prayers, there names are Collin and Rusty, along with that our computers will be found. Thanks =)"

Thank you for considering helping us meet this unexpected need.
And a happy belated Thanksgiving from our family to yours.
