A Tattoo for Healing

I'm a young college student who has been struggling with depression for years. At ten years old I first threatened suicide. At fourteen I started cutting. At 18 I finally was hospitalized where I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and for the first time in my life I started feeling normal. I entered an intensive outpatient program where I learned to control the emotions I fought with everyday. Now, at 20 I am at a great point in my life. I have a job in the field I love. I work with young kids, and I spend everyday teaching them the joys in life. But, I still don't feel comfortable in my own skin. I have large scars from my past on my thighs. Last year, I designed a unique tattoo to cover up the scars. But, because I still have a long way to go for education and loans, I don't see this tattoo happening anytime soon. I am starting this fundraiser to see if I can closer to my goal. I want to move past this painful experience and be beautiful as I am.
