Wounded Soldier Business start up

Donation protected
This is the Rozanski Family Plan. My name is Jason Rozanski and my younger brother is Chad Rozanski. We want to start a Hot Shot Trucking business. I have been driving trucks for as long as I can remember. Our Father started driving semi’s after his military career as a Marine. Without trucking our family would have never been started. Our father was born in San Diego, CA and our mother was born in Chadds Ford, PA. They met through a friend at a truck stop in Oklahoma. It was love at first sight. When my mother got pregnant they settled down in Arkansas. From there they had four children. I am the oldest, Chad is the second then came both of our younger sisters. I grew up following my dad into the trucking field and Chad followed my dad into his military career. Our lives have been changed forever. On July 02, 2006 Chad was involved in an IED attack while he was deployed in Ramadi for Operation Iraqi Freedom. He suffered burns on 90% of his body and both legs were amputated above the knee due to the severe blast injuries. Chad spent almost two years recovering at a Military Hospital in Texas. He has had multiple surgeries to the shattered bone ends of his legs and skin grafting procedures for his severe burns. While this has been very hard on Chad and us all, it has brought the family closer than ever before. What makes my brother’s story even more unique is that Chad was not even supposed to be on duty that day. This is a Facebook post from one of my brother’s best friend from his unit:
“I've only really talked about this to a hand full of people and it’s a sensitive subject for me... On todays date, July 2, 2006 I was in the middle of my one year deployment to Ramadi Iraq. I was enjoying my day off by relaxing, calling home and catching up on some sleep. I know its not a big deal to most people but to anyone who knows about deployments... There are no days off when you are in a combat zone! The reason I had the day off is because of my best friend, who had been recently promoted to the rank of Sergeant (Chad Rozanski). He volunteered to take my place on my patrol. He drove my truck and my crew. He took my spot. He did this for me and he did it out of the kindness of his heart. He was taking care of his soldier and friend. I was going on patrol non stop for 12, 14, and even 16hrs a day. Sergeant Rozanski struck an IED and ended up pinned under the truck while it was on fire. My best friend was burning alive. It took the efforts of everyone on scene to get him out of there with a fighting chance of life. It should have been me! He suffered extreme burns to most of his lower body and ended up losing both legs above the knee. Although Chad was badly injured, I sit here and thank God he didn't take my friend on that horrible nightmare of a day. He is alive today and has a beautiful family. I don't know why wanted to share this publicly after 7 years. Maybe its guilt, maybe it's that I have to live my whole life wondering why? Why him and not me? Maybe I just wanted to get this off my chest. I want to say thank you! To one of the greatest men that I will ever have the privilege to meet and serve with: I want to say I love you Brother, you will forever be in my thoughts and prayers. I will NEVER forget this day... July 2.” Julian Tamay

It makes me cry every time I read this but I know that everything happens for a reason. Chad has come to me and discussed starting a Hot Shot Trucking business together. The family totally supports his desire to be able to work again, but we do not have the financial resources to make this happen . We know if we could just get started, that we could take care of the business and the business would take care of us. Take a minute and look around; everything you see has been on a truck at one point to get to your house. Until drones begin to deliver, it will stay the same and we will need trucks. We have friends that are running a hot shot trucking business with three trucks. We want to join the group so we are asking for your help to get us going. Chad is living on his benefits and some social security. I have just graduated for ITT-Tech into a field that does not pay much at all. We are on a limited budget. So please help us get going so we can provide for our ever growing family.
We need a reliable truck and a trailer. After talking with others, Dodge Ram seems to be the best choice. We would like to get a 3500 One Ton pickup dually with the 6.7 Cummins diesel engine. In order to be most effective, we would like to order a 48’ flatbed goose neck trailer. Startup costs are high and we will need to be able to get the trailer and the truck ready to do business over the road. We would like to put an auxiliary tank in the truck in order to drive a longer way with fewer stops. And then there taxes, permits and fees that will need to be paid in order to legally drive the truck. Anything will help us get started. Your donation will enable us to change our ability to become self-sufficient. We will continue the spirit of giving by sharing our success with other injured veterans. Your financial assistance and prayers will be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
