Wheels for Education

Welcome, and Thank You for visiting my GFM Page!

Hello everyone,

My name is Carol, and I am a single mother working hard every single day. To those who don't know, I have recently been accepted into my Masters degree program in Mental Health Counseling for New England College (YAY)! It's taken four long years of hard work, dedication, hope, and on the occasion, tears to complete it. My mission in life is to open my own practice, and help the people in my community to overcome their own personal struggles, as well as give them the tools to pursue their own dreams with the fullest extent.

In order to do this however, I have to be able to make the commute. The car you see before you is named Peppah (Pepper with a New England accent), and she's 19 years old, with many of the origional parts still in place. She's got a lot of pep in her step, and she's my very first car. I wouldn't trade her for the world!

Unfortunatley, when I got her used, she came with a few problems that a new shopper such as myself did not know how to check for. Within 3 days of owning the car, the crank shaft broke, leaving her dead in the water. When the mechanic took a look, he told me there were a lot of other problems, including the wrong type of fuel line installed, rust, an oil leak, a leak in the gas tank, and parts of the exhaust system which would be the first to go.

Well, that time has come. The exhaust resonator, muffler, and pipes are hanging lower than ever and bouncing around, and it's only a short matter of time before it breaks. Additionally the cost of labor can be costly, and this needs to be done soon. Last, because I work for a non-profit organization (that I proudly love and support), my paycheck is not as high as the value of my work. To get to my college, I'll have to drive a little more than an hour one way (between Concord and Henicker) and the gas does not come cheap. The purpose of this funding then, is to primarily fix up the bare minimum of my car (exhaust and labor), and second is to invest in some gas cards to keep my gas in the tank.

The ability to help so many in the future is right around the corner, and I'm beyond excited for the opportunity to fulfill such a deep calling within me, however the strength of one is reflected upon the community that supports that person. My hope is that you will spare whatever little pocket change you have to help me get the car fixed. If not, then be a team player, and help spread my cause via Facebook, Wordpress, or any social media/blogging sites that you can promote this on. One day the time will come will be depending on my services, but for now my family and I are depending on you.

Thank you, and God Bless!
