Hello to our sweet friends and family!

First we would like to thank you. We have no words sufficient for the incredible support you have provided for our family. We are so, so very thankful for each of your wonderful, kind, and giving hearts. God has done some really great things in the past 3 years and we are honored and thankful that we have had the opportunity to be a part of what He was and is doing here in Nicaragua. None of this would have been possible for us without your help. These years here in Nicaragua have been so dear to our hearts. We have had our ups and we have most definitely had our downs but the Lord has taught us so much about patience and about His love for His children.

Over the past years our job down here has been to work alongside the preachers that are supported by the Campbell Street Church of Christ. At this moment there are 5 across the map of Nicaragua. This means a lot of traveling. When we moved down here our plan was to be a team. We planned to work together and travel to each of these congregations encouraging them and searching for ways to be of assistance. During our second year in Nicaragua we learned we were very blessed with a surprise, Summer was pregnant with our Sadie. It didn't change much until she was born, but since Sadie was born we have realized how busy our lives have truly been. Sadie was taking just about every nap in our hot vehicle, she had a permanent heat rash, and we couldn't get her on any night schedule because most nights were spent traveling to visit the communities or out working with our mission teams until 9 or 10 at night. It has become increasingly difficult for us to work as a team and was becoming more of Ryan traveling around alone, and Summer staying at home with Sadie worried about Ryan! Just a few short months later we were surprised again that we were pregnant with our second daughter. What a blessing for our family, but for our ministry in Nicaragua it changed things.

We have decided that due to our second child coming sometime in early November, it is time for us to make some changes. We have decided that it is best for our family to start working our way back to the USA. We would still like to serve but we feel that, with the ages of our children, we will not be able to serve at our fullest capacity at this time. We still plan to work closely with our friends and family here in Nicaragua but are excited about a time where someone of this native culture can take on our role of working with the preachers. We feel confident that this ministry is ready for this and that it will be a blessing for the churches here. God has truly blessed our time in Nicaragua and we have seen so much positive change in the churches.

Our tentative plans

Emma is due November 5. Ryan would like it if I (Summer), Sadie and Emma fly back to the US on December 1st and stay with family. Ryan would then do the last few things that need to be settled down here and come back right before Christmas.

Because we are having a baby just one month before we move home, we are looking to sell all of our things here this month (we have already started with things we aren't currently using, extra beds , etc.). What we are considering, for now, is to go ahead and start trying to sell our home furnishings and appliances, pack up our clothes and small things we will be bringing home, and at the beginning of October we hope to find a small, furnished, month to month, rental home to live in for the next two months. Once the girls leave on December 1st, Ryan will live with friends here in Nicaragua to finish up the work. We feel like this will be the easiest way to transition so that we won’t have to go through the process of packing up and selling furniture during the same time that Emma will be born.

The Need

With the tentative plan being to move to a month to month rental home, the cost will also go up due to the fact that it is both furnished and short term. Also coming up are some extra expenses with the cost of the birth of Emma. So, here is what we are asking: we are looking for one time donors who would be willing to help us with our last 3 months in Nicaragua and with our transition back to life in the U.S.

Some of these expenses include:
1. $600 for the rental home
2. $1800 for doctor and hospital expenses
3. $1000 for extra baggage fees for the return trip
4. $5600 for a used vehicle when we get home
5. $2000 for up-front stateside expenses (i.e. rental home deposit, insurance, relocation expenses, etc.)

Here is the situation. The first $2000 is an urgent expense. We will need this as soon as possible to feel confident in our decision to go ahead and sell the rest of the things we would use on a day to day basis (bed, refrigerator, stove, etc.). The other $9000, we would hope to have by mid December at the latest to help make the transition to the States as smooth as possible. This could translate to 110 $100 donations, 220 $50 donations, or 440 $25 donations.  I say this to show that every donation counts and will go a long way to help us reach our goal.  We realize that we are asking a lot, but we thank you so much for your generosity and love.

Thank you all so much!
In Christ,

Ryan, Summer, Sadie, and Emma Bush
