New Computer
Donation protected
Some horrendous person(s) broke into my apartment and stole over $10,000 worth of my personal belongings. One of those was my computer. Thousands of pictures, personal videos/audio recordings, and 60+ GB of music all gone. The police have so far not made any kind of progress, and while I have renter's insurance, I won't see any of the payout for 30 days.
I can't be without a computer for 30 days, and try to find an apartment in a different state, nor can I apply for jobs without the appropriate programs.
I doubt I will get much from the insurance company to replace my laptop. It wasn't the top of the line when I bought it 5 years ago, but it was pretty good. Ideally I wanted to get a Mac when this one crapped out on me, but I was supposed to have a while yet to save up for it. Obviously that's not in the cards,
It would be lovely to get my laptop back with all its memory intact, but with all the things that were taken I doubt I'll ever see it again.
