We are a team of seven engineers and makers from Saskatoon, Saskatchewan who are building a 250lb combat robot for ABC's show BattleBots.
As the first Canadian team to participate, we are very excited to put Saskatoon, Canada on the map, and do our best to bring home the giant nut trophy!
Our robot, named Bucktooth Burl, is designed to look like a beaver and will be the most Canadian robot that ever existed - complete with faux fur and giant steel teeth to chew up the competition.
We've put in countless hours into the design of the robot, we've purchase all of the electronic components, and we've recently started to manufacture all of the body panels. However, it turns out that a 250lb robot can be really expensive.
We have enough parts to build 1-1.5 full robots, but we're short on money to buy backups parts. There's a significant amount of repair required after each match, and we suspect that we will need to be replacing electronic components.
With the money we hope to raise, we will purchase 1 additional weapon motor, and 2 additional drive motors - components that we do not currently have any backups for.
Your donation will mean a lot to us as it will allow us to progress risk-free past the first match. Aside from being very thankful, we hope to make Canada very proud.
