INKING - A New Musical

I am raising money to put this beautiful piece of theatre on its feet in November. Pitgems is dedicated to supporting emerging artists and producing innovative and experimental work. As its founder, I am desperate to pay my actors what they deserve for the work they will be putting into this piece. As a thank you to all, for theirs and your continued support, I will be putting on a concert for free in Central London in May to showcase new artists, new writing and great talents. All are welome!
INKING will cost.....
£500 - Performance space
£500 - Rehearsal space
£200 - Per actor to cover their travel expenses. (A cast of 16 would be the least I could use for the piece.)
As with every show, I will work as quickly as possible and will be putting this on within a week of rehearsing. The production dates are booked (November 5th - 9th), so whatever happens, INKING is going ahead, but you can make a difference to those who are a part of this company.
INKING can be cast to the amount I have available to me at the time of auditioning. The more there is in the pot, the more people who recieve the opportunity to be a part of this work. Expenses alone are not enough for the beatiful people I'll be working with, so please give generously. All ticket sales will go back to them. There really isn't a penny in it for myself which is why I have no qualms about asking for your donations.
Why should you donate?
1. At a time when Fringe work is often the start of many young actors careers, it's important to make sure that they are treated with respect and given good work to showcase them.
2. 'Fringe Theatre' used to mean experimental and the beginning of something unique. Now it can mean poor work ethics and appalling rehearsal conditions and venues. Pitgems will always strive to be on the positive and creatively rewarding side of Fringe Theatre, offering only good, safe and reliable working conditions.
3. Pitgems has supported so many performers on their way to West End careers and into the best drama colleges our country has to offer. Some have also been offered agent representation on the back of their work with the company. Pitgems is offering a standard of training which would be beyond the purse of many who attend its classes and perform in its shows.
4. Pitgems is run by one person. But the achievements are shared by many. Please help to keep me going so I can keep them going!
If you think you can help then please do. I will do everything in my power to keep promoting and supporting those around me who want to be challenged in the arts and be appreciated for their skills. As always, even the tiniest amounts help to relieve the pressure of making these things happen. As of yet, Pitgems receives no funding. Last year it provided heavily subsidised vocational training for performers and also put on a full scale production of Elegies For Angels Punks and Raging Queens which raised £2000 for the National AIDS Trust. INKING will be the third musical from Pitgems in as many years. This is a creative outlet working to demand from performers who want to be pushed vocally and physically.

I truly believe this piece has something to say, and that those who work with me grow from being a part of something so passionate and driven. Theatre deserves to be exciting, invigorating and a truly rewarding experience. I hope to bring all these elements to the delivery of this production for all involved, performer and audience combined.
