Chelsea and Kitty's Recovery

Donation protected
Our loving 7 month old German Shepard, Chelsea has fought for four days in emergency care, due to vomiting, diarhhea and inability to sustain any sort of water or nutrition, the internal medicine doctor saw and treated her as an inpatient for another four days. What started as a small concern turned into a foreign body lodged within her GI tract. After three sets of X-rays, ultrasounds, blood tests, they decided to put surgery on the back burner and call in an internal medicine doctor. His observations concluded surgery was not necessary and this foreign body could really be an inflation of bacteria in Chelsea's stomach and intestines causing the neausea, vomiting, inability to eat and signs of gastrointestinal problems. She was placed on  IV fluids through her left leg (as you can see) and recovery was very tedious. She came home yesterday with plenty of meds, and is beginning to eat again. We still anticipate lab results from the doctor to determine whether further treatment is needed.

I recently took a kitten off the streets, no more than 5 weeks old. We bottle feed her, by hand, 3-4 times per day and she is already transitioning to wet food. Today we brought Kitty (still havent had a chance to name her, as we just recently discovered the sex) to a vet today due to alarming behavior and sudden loss of mobility. They say she's about 5-7 weeks old, weighing in at 1lb. The contortion of her neck made me believe she had a spinal injury. The doctor is uncertain about her behavior and inability to move but said there is a chance of neurological damage. Since she is so young, it is difficult for them to test for other answers.. We still want to bring her to a neurologist (if we can afford it) and see if they can help. For now, she is staying over night at the animal hospital in critical care.

The vet bills are rapidly adding up, and we sadly do not have the financial capability to run test after test after TEST to find out what could be wrong with our poor girls. We are asking our friends and family to share this page, and donate whatever you can. These animals mean the absolute world to us. Any funds that we do not utilize will be donated back to charities that advocate animal adoption. Thank you in advance for your love and support!
