Establish Retreat for Wounded Vets

Tax deductible
Did you know that the average hospital stay for wounded, ill or recovering military servicemen and women is about 300 days, with outpatient care continuing for up to three years?

There are an unprecedented number of vets coming home with serious injuries that require intensive medical care. These willing warriors didn't lose their lives, but their lives have been changed forever, as have the lives of their families.

Our wounded heroes often find that their relationships with their families are just as much a casualty of their combat-related injuries as the physical wounds. They yearn for a place away from the hospital, where they can relax and reconnect as a family unit.

With your help, the Bull Run Warrior Retreat will be able to fill that need for our willing warriors and their families.

About Serve Our Willing Warriors and the Bull Run Warrior Retreat

Seven years ago, a group of church volunteers started visiting the wounded, ill and injured military service members at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center. The simple gift-giving and time spent with them was well-received because we brought a small taste of home into the hospital environment.

It was such an incredible experience that we decided to begin making regular visits to both Walter Reed and Fort Belvoir Community Hospital.

Serve Our Willing Warriors was established as a non-profit organization in 2012, and we have since been recognized by the IRS as a 501 (c) 3 organization -- so all contributions are tax deductible.

Shortly after Serve Our Willing Warriors was established, an idea was born: we should provide a respite retreat for warriors to come enjoy a home away from home environment with their families. An incredible idea, yes, but how could a new non-profit organization possibly achieve such a goal?

That's when the miracle happened. Our president found the perfect opportunity, a large house on an extensive property set in the beautiful Bull Run countryside. Appropriately named "The Bull Run Warrior Retreat," this property represents the heart and soul of the Serve Our Willing Warrior organization.

Much is needed to make this property handicap accessible and willing warrior ready. Will you help to make this dream a reality for our willing warriors and their families?
