Bosley's Place a Puppy Sanctuary

This fundraising campaign is to help support "Bosley's Place", a nursery for homeless and orphaned neonatal (0-4 weeks old) and underage (under 8 weeks) puppies. In 2015 we were able to save 114 orphaned puppies, as of February 10, 2016, we have already rescued 30 orphaned puppies, please help us continue to save these little lives!
How is all started...
...it all started with Bosley, a rescue that I have bottle-fed from 3 weeks old, who has now found a permanent loving furever home, with me - we stumbled on each other (which I'll explain more below) but he's inspired me to help other underage puppies have a chance at life they might not otherwise have.
What many people don't know (including myself up until the time I founded this organization) is that most, if not all, humane organizations cannot intake underage puppies because they a) do not have the personnel to provide the special attention these little ones need and, b) a puppy under 8 weeks that has not been weaned from its mother will not have an immune system substantial enough to survive in that environment. The only way to save these little ones is to immediately locate a foster family or rescue organization that might have a nursing bitch (momma dog) - these are not ideal or ever guaranteed. If there are no resources available, these puppies are euthanized, which is why opening Bosley's Place is imperative and will be an integral part of the Animal Welfare Community.
By taking in and caring for the homeless and orphaned underage puppies, Bosley's Place will free up foster homes for other dogs that otherwise might end up on death row due to overcrowded shelters, helping to save many more lives.

A little background....On September 5th, 2014 I was at Fulton County Animal Services completing a volunteer form in their front office and a young gentlemen came into the room with this tiny, adorable, 1.2lb furball of life. He said that the puppy was a 3 week old pitbull they had just named Bosley. He was found in the trash somewhere in Grant Park only hours before and unfortunately was basically on death row unless they found a foster family as they are not able to accept or care for underage puppies.

While they were feverishly hitting the phones trying to find him a foster home late on a Friday afternoon. I asked to hold the little guy for a minute and he was just kisses and cuddles. As I sat there watching their failed attempts I turned to the staff member and asked, “How does one become a foster parent?” He said “You just did!", as he handed me a form to complete, and moments later, Bosley’s crate and bottle of formula. And that’s where our journey began...I was still full of ignorance, peaceful, loving, puppy cuddling ignorance.
The idea of being a foster of course is to give the little guy a chance and get him ready for adoption before he can find his forever home. This requires feedings every 2-3 hours, training, patience, supportive friends, puppy formula, teething rings, baby bottles, blankets, heaters, lots of wee-wee pads, wet and dry dog food, beds, toys, TONS of love and so much more.
This whole experience has changed my life. I have always been a fan of animals, but was living in the business world. So, after 25 years in business, I finally understand what "I want to do with the rest of my life". What I really was meant to do is to start Bosley's Place... As I mentioned earlier, Bosley's Place, is a nursery for homeless and orphaned neonatal and underage puppies. We provide all that's needed while in our care, along with adoptions services, foster placement (after 8 weeks of age), training and community animal welfare education.

The balls are rolling...I've started Vet Assistant school, committed myself to devoting all of my time to learning and caring for the puppies...and they have started coming in daily!

Bosley's Place is now an incorporated nonprofit in the State of Georgia and we have submitted our application to become a 501(c)3 organization. All of this takes time and $$$ but the puppies can't wait, which is why we really need the support of all of you animal loving people out there!
I am a life-long dog (and other animal) LOVER, have always been fortunate to work for companies that have had great "bring your dog to work" policies and now I am thrilled to have the opportunity to devote myself to this cause.
Bosley was the 2nd underage puppy I rescued within the last year and it's the most fulfilling feeling. I don't plan to keep all of the underage pups that we're able to save - the game plan is to foster the puppies, begin training and provide love and socialization while in our care and THEN find them great homes.
This is how Bosley and Reuben (my 1 years old) sleep.

After doing oodles of research I’ve come to find that there are limited to no resources for neo-natal and underage homeless pups in Atlanta, or anywhere in Georgia. Most shelters rely on single foster families, which are difficult to come by or they look to breeders that may have a nursing bitch to help. Neither of these are guaranteed or ideal situations.
In addition to providing a resource that currently doesn't exist, the positive imprinting these pups will receive while at Bosley's Place will guarantee they are wonderful domestic pets. Bosley is now one of the most popular dogs at the park and he is ALL love and kisses, socialized with other dogs. He learned to stay, come, give his paw and wait for his treats, all by 8 weeks of age. Our goal is to have each pup on his/her way to being the best pet for each household by the time they leave.
Bosley's Place alleviates other resources so there's more foster families available for the older dogs that truly need it.
To wrap this up...we need to raise funds now to continue our work while we are waiting for our 501(c)3 status and being eligible for grants and other fundraising.
