B-More Social Justice Program

Tax deductible
Where there is life there is HOPE.

Baltimore resident Imam Hassan Amin was an active participant in the riots in 1968, after the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King. After the riots, the city was in turmoil and youth were looking for opportunities. Imam Hassan joined the military, became Muslim and successfully changed his life for the better.

If he had not fallen into the right hands at an early age, the results could have been tragic.  A report was recently written that said that 1.5 million black men in the United States of America are missing.  Imam Hassan Amin could have easily been one of those missing black men. As a Spiritual leader and Vietnam Era Veteran, service is a core belief that inspired him to start Muslim Social Services Agency (MSSA) in 2003, a non-profit social service agency in Baltimore.

On April 27th 2015, Baltimore City was hit with devastating riots.  This time, Imam Hassan Amin is not only helping to clean up, but he is the Chief Executive Officer of the Muslim Social Services Agency.  At 7 a.m. this picture was taken of Imam Amin cleaning up after the looting and rioting in Baltimore.  Post retirement from the Department of Human Resources and college professor in Baltimore MD, he is still working tirelessly for MSSA and the betterment of Baltimore City. The work is never done.

HOPE is here!

MSSA is currently in need of funding to continue to assist those negatively impacted by the rioting and looting and to assist with the months of recovery afterwards.
MSSA  will offer  training programs that will include; inter/intra personal communication courses, life skills, business writing, civic engagement, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship. One of the key components will be an application program, where youth will create socially responsible phone and web applications to address the issue of Police Brutality.

In combination with the curriculum, the students will be able to select from the following tracks; virtual bookkeeping, Microsoft Certified Professional training, graphic design and web application development.  Upon successful completion of the program, students will be placed in jobs and we will continue to offer individualized WRAP AROUND services for all students.

Your life can now provide HOPE!

Baltimore is a strong city and will overcome all of the obstacles that have transpired over the past few days.  Imam Hassan Amin’s beginning was rocky, but he now has 5 children, a wife of 40 years and he is the Imam at Johns Hopkins University, Johns Hopkins Hospital and Baltimore City Police Department.  He has counseled and provided financial assistance to thousands within Baltimore with a very limited budget.  These donations will help Baltimore with a start fresh.  With your help, anywhere from $15 - $20, MSSA will continue to assist those in need now, during the protesting, and for the months of recovery afterwards. Our goal is to raise at least $200,000 for the above effort, thanking you in advance for your assistance.
