First I want to say Happy...

First I want to say Happy birthday to Diana Chris Pirillos girlfriend and say thank you to her personally and that I am touched by the fact that my chair was one of her birthday wishes and the second thing id like to address is all of you who have donated shared my story or given me encouragement or who will you all are very kind people and have shown me that even though it seems the world doesnt care it does its just a small group of people who make the world seem unkind I know im repeating myself often in these posts but I really can't find words to thank you all enough for caring about my situation I hope to one day be avle to return the favor in a big way

as always thank you all from the bottom of my heart

Thank you for taking the time to visit my page My name is Andrew I have spastic cerebral palsy and I am in need of a manual wheelchair. Which is not covered by my medical insurance I know at first glance the amount im asking for can seem like a bit of a shocker but the base cost of my chair according to a representative at care medical just for the body is $4,000 this amount does not include hourly billing for labour and parts some examples include a seat belt a harness straps for my feet to stop me from kicking during spasms a headrest, Laterals (they help hold me up straight) a ROHO wheelchair seat which protects a bed sore I got during a surgery from breaking back open. Thats a handful of the costs I can come up with its virtually impossible for me to get an itemized invoice as it has to come from care and each vendor my only point of reference is my previous chair the one shown in the photo above which was paid for through Shriners hospital for children however because im over 21 I am not eligible for services such as those any longer I guess all I can say at this point is thank you to all of you who took the time to read this and any amount helps even if you cannot donate please share my page in anyway you can

Andrew, last night I believe in my heart-we moved a small mountain for the cause. Yes, there is more that is needed, but we must keep in mind-it was one night so far. It was an honor to do what we did to help. I just do not understand people much any more. The heart of those who gave and those who will, are those who reach out to others. Thank you Andrew for sharing your story with us. We will keep raising funds, and yes you will get what you need. KGW TV has also been called. Talk soon Buddy :)

I found this site: http://www.1800wheelchair.com/ browse/335/motorized-wheelchai r ... and asked the fellows at Access Alaska about the kind of chair you need, and they (the AK experts) said you were being overcharged. Those chairs can be shipped from anywhere, hon, so find you the BEST deal and I betcha it won't be $10k, in fact, I'm a'hopin' and a'prayin' you will find EXACTLY what you need for far, far less.
