Help Our Friend! Help Honduras!

We are raising money to help our amazing friend Esli go to medical school. Esli Ramos lives in San Pedro Sula, Honduras. According to the United Nations, San Pedro Sula has the highest homicide rate in the world. Gangs and organized crime have taken over the country. Approximately 65% of Hondurans live in poverty. People are sending their young children thousands of miles, alone, to try to cross the border to escape the extreme violence and poverty. Citizens of Honduras are becoming desperate and don't see another way.

Esli sees another way. Esli wants to do her part in rebuilding Honduras by going to medical school and becoming a doctor for the people she grew up with. This dream can become a reality. She can become part of a better future for Hondurus and its children. However, it is expensive and she cannot afford all the tuition and expenses.

As a small child in Honduras, Esli worked herself through school. She moved far away from her family to toil as a maid in the home of a wealthy family, in exchange for room and board, so that she could go to elementary and high school at night. Esli graduated at the top of her school class, but in a country like Honduras that means little in terms of economic equality. Esli has the motivation, determination and brains to become a doctor. She just needs a little of our support.

This $25,000 will go a lot further in Honduras than it would in the United States.  It will cover her entire education.
