Biolans' Equal Ground Launch Fund
Donation protected
Hi, we're Randall White and Casey McCann and we're the co-directors of the group formerly known as the "Biola Queer Underground."
We are proud to announce that we are relaunching the BQU this semester as "Biolans' Equal Ground." We are changing our name to mark the progress of LGBTQ students at Biola no longer being underground. As more students on campus come out of the closet, LGBTQ life at Biola is slowly moving out of the shadows into a life of awareness and action on Biola's campus. Our goal is to continue running a bi-weekly support group for LGBTQ students at Biola, putting on various events to promote awareness and education, and to continue promoting the message that you can be LGBTQ & Christian.
On April 16th Biola hosted a screening of an ex-gay documentary called "Sing Over Me." In response, we are launching a campaign called "Tell Our Stories Too." We're asking Biola to host ex-ex-gays on campus sometime in the month of May, so students can hear both sides of the issue. We want to be able to launch our new website, and distribute on-campus flyers about our support group, as soon as possible to continue the momentum of this campaign.
We need your help for a few things. We spend quite a bit of money as co-directors running the support group, and we don't have any money left to get our new name/website out there. We're asking for $350 to cover two costs (1) Website fees ($14/month) (2) Promotional material (i.e. flyers, stickers) with info about our support group to hand out to Biola students.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. We're incredibly excited to see what God has in store for Biola this upcoming year!
