Aircheck Hard Drive Repair

My name is Matt Seinberg, and I run www.bigappleairchecks.com, which is the largest aircheck hobby site on the internet.  I've contributed airchecks to movies and TV shows because the producers found my website, and the depth of my collection usually included something that they needed. The site is self supporting as long as it generates just enough money to pay the hosting bill. However, in January 2018, my wife fell and broke her foot, and our income has decreased by 40%. Even with health insurance and accident insurance, we're coming up short to pay the monthy bills. I'm asking my radio friends and aircheck fans to contribute what they can so I can get this hard drive repaired, and keep the website up to date. Without this hard drive, the site is dead, as I'm not going to start all over again. The site will stay up until next February when the hosting bill is due again, but no new additions will be made. Big Apple Airchecks has been on the internet for over 15 years, and I've been collecting airchecks since 1976. I've converted many of them to digital format in all those years, and while I had a back up, it wasn't up to date.  Just as I was setting up a new hard drive to perform this current back up, the current hard drive fell and became inoperable.  I sent it to a computer technician who couldn't do anything, and he recommended that it be sent to a company that he has used previously with great success, Ontrack.com. The minimum cost is $299, and he believes that it will cost more than that since the main read head in the hard drive is damaged.  When the drive starts, the noise is makes it quite scary. It's a screeching noise that leads me to believe that the hard drive itself may be damaged. So I'm asking for some help to keep my site, this hobby and my lifelong passion for radio alive. I can't do it alone.  A contribution of $10 or $20 will go a long way in keeping this valuable audio resource alive for many years to come.
