The track at Bedford Community Stadium is crumbling and the school district is faced with a huge bill to replace it. The track was originally installed in 1990 and while it has been maintained, cold weather, special events, and heavy community usage has contributed to its current deteriorated condition.
Members of the administration, the Athletic Department, and Bedford Community members are requesting your help with restoring the track to its full glory. With the recent defeat of the Sinking Fund, which would have allotted $100,000 toward the track replacement, we are now faced with coming up with the full cost of $213,000.
We are in the beginning stages of fundraising but need to move very quickly. Not only is the track used by our Track and Field teams, but it is also used daily by our physical education classes, sports conditioning, and by thousands of community members year round.
Please consider a minimum donation equal to the amount of your (now eliminated) Sinking Fund amount on your winter tax bill. That would equate to approximately $50 yearly for a $200,000 house, or only pennies a day. We'd love more, but will appreciate anything you can spare.
