Help my husband go to vocational school

We do not want to be another casualty of the recession and bad economy. After submitting his resume to hundreds of employers with very few call backs, he has decided a career change is neccessary. Attending vocational school to get his CDL will cost $6440.00, the remainder will help with bills while he attends the 5 week course. Once he has his CDL he can then go to work for either an oil company or drive OTR. We hate to have to go this route for help but all other avenues are exhausted.
