Update: we got the apartment!!!! We sincerely thank everyone who was able to help. We are in need of three basic pieces of furniture- a bed for me, and two dressers for the kids!

Dear Friends, Me and the kids need your help! After we left our abusive situation in 2012’ in Pennsylvania from the kids father we wound up the in the shelter system back in New York City. We were shuffled from three different shelters – Staten Island, Far Rockaway and finally the Bronx. All of our medical equipment in tow. During that time we offered no housing. Our income was insufficient for even the lowest income apartments. We were given no vouchers. I was unable to work, because the shelter system wouldn’t allow for a nurse, and I was the only one trained in my ventilator dependent daughter’s care. Flash forward a year later - we now have a viable offer for a two bedroom apartment! Times being what they are I have a temp job – which doesn’t leave much for savings. The department of welfare gives out vouchers now – which management is not accepting! The day of the one shot deal is done. We are trying desperately to reach our goal of $2200 by August 1st. This is all we need to move into the apartment which is now being held for us – but won’t be held much longer if we do not come up with the funds. It is hard to put our story out here like this – but WE really need help. Pride is not in place here as how I am humble enough to admit I need help!! to I am a hard worker (as my father before me) and value my daily duties to both my children. My family support is non existent and therefore I am please asking for any minimal amount you can donate. Sincerely,
