Baroque Oboe for a Good Heart

Jesse Barrett is a concert oboist on the verge of becoming "one of the greats." We are trying to raise money (secretly!) to buy this guy a Baroque Oboe. It's a unique instrument that, in his hands, will push him ahead of the pack that is his competition. With this donation, you could help solidify this young man's career in a truly life-changing way.

What makes him so great? 
Jesse Barrett is possibly the kindest person I've ever come across. The way he treats the people around him – from baristas and taxi drivers to strangers on the bus – is rare. He is genuinely good.

This goodness was tested in the last year or so as he helped to bring his family through hell. He worked three jobs(!) only to race to the side of a very sick family member every moment he had to spare. Cooking, cleaning, caretaking: he took care of the things that needed to be done without a second thought or anything less than a smile. 

Now his family is out of the darkest part of the woods and he's able to focus 100% of his mind on becoming the greatest damn oboe player his generation has ever seen. And he is *this* close! (He recently played with the Russian National Orchestra!)

Why does he need this instrument?
He currently works with a dozen or so orchestras across the Bay Area and Reno. He works tirelessly to earn these opportunities, but still works 2 extra jobs to support himself. All told, he works anywhere from 60-90 hour weeks. Having this specialty instrument –the Baroque Oboe– would make him a much more desireable candidate for better-paying gigs. The hope is that we are helping him to be able to work fewer hours but earn more money.
