The Barn Owl Centre , a charity dedicated to the welfare of barn owls and birds of prey, was falsely linked with the planned opening of an owl bar in Soho.
The organisers of Annie the Owl, a pop-up bar, where customers will be able to pet owls while drinking cocktails claimed that they would be donating the profits of ticket sales to The Barn Owl Centre.
However, the owner of the charity has said that he would refuse any donation made by the bar.
This was no doubt a difficult decision as The Barn Owl Centre desparately needs £10,000 to build aviaries to house 60 unwanted ex-pet birds.
To help please consider making a donation to The Barn Owl Centre. If we can help them with just a tenth of what they need that would be a fantastic achievement. It would also make up for the donation that they would have turned down from the owl bar.
