PLEASE HELP MY FAMILY COVER THE COST OF MY TWO SURGERIES, SPECIAL FOOD AND LOTS OF MEDS!  I RACKED UP OVER $15,000 IN MEDICAL BILLS FOR MY FAMILY TO HAVE TO PAY!
Our full story is below. Baci has had her second surgery and now can walk and see, however still needs hundreds of dollars of meds a month.  These costs are on top of the almost $15,000 in medical bills our family have already charged on our credit card.  Please consider lightening our burden if you can!  THANK YOU!

Baci, our five year old Min Pin, quickly and recently went blind from Diabetes we didn't know she had.  We have Cataract Surgery scheduled for her for November 2nd.  This will be her second major surgery, as this past summer she became paralyzed from a compressed disc.  We want to do anything we can to help her life be better especially since she is so young; but this has stretched us beyond our means.  Can you please consider helping and PLEASE PLEASE share her story?

THANK YOU!!!!

Hi.  My name is Baci Bella and I am a Min Pin!  I was rescued by my family just about two years ago from the Henderson Animal Shelter.  I barked and barked until I got their attention to visit me.  They fell in love!  The shelter said I was 3-4 years old when I was rescued, which makes me 5-6 now.

I live at home with my humans (Mom, Dad, Brother and Sister) and my fur brother, Brutus, a Puggle.  I love to snuggle with him and steal his toys!

Three months ago, I suddenly wasn’t able to use my front legs and my parents had to take me to the vet.  After three different vets we ended up in the Emergency Room at VE+CC.  Dr. Shaadi took great care of me and gave me a CT Scan and found out I had a bulged disc in my neck which was compressing my nerve 50%, paralyzing me!  He suggested surgery and even though it was more money than my parents had immediately available they told the docs to fix me up.  While in surgery, my mom was told I may not walk for up to six months after surgery.  She was very scared.

I made it through surgery great but had to stay in the hospital for six days.  I ate ok for the nurses, but really ate great when my mommy came to visit me.  I never cried, but screeched.  I learned to scooch around pretty quick and stole the hearts of all the staff there.  I was finally released to my parents and they took me home, not knowing how they were going to take care of me.  I still couldn’t walk.  At first I had to be carried everywhere.  For two months, they did not leave me alone.  They made sure one of them was always with me.  On the rare occasion, they both had to leave, they hired doggy sitters to take care of me.  I made extra friends that way.   I learned to communicate my needs by barking so my parents would either take me out and hold me up to go potty or feed me or give me water, or sometimes just because I wanted to be held!  My mom and dad even brought me to doggy rehab and had Kelly and her friends work with me on the water treadmill to learn to walk again.  Have I mentioned yet, that I hate water?  I do not like to swim or take baths, so the doggy treadmill was not my favorite.  With months of rehab and lots and lots of love, I learned to walk again.  My mommy said I looked drunk because I was a little weak and wobbly, but I was finally able to play with Brutus again and steal his toys.

My mommy and daddy paid a ton of money for my surgery, rehab, meds, sitters and special food.  Between all of that, my parents spent almost $10,000 on making me all better.  They even had to cash in IRA’s to pay my bills.

Then two weeks ago, my mom started noticing something “funny” looking with my right eye.  By that Friday, I woke up to a swollen shut eye with lots of icky stuff coming out of it.  She scooped me up and took me to three more doctors.  After more tests and confusion, they finally found out I was diabetic.  My mom has to put eye drops in my eye now and give me shots two times a day.  My mommy hates needles.  I think it hurts her more than me!

We were hoping to get my diabetes regulated to save the sight in my other eye, but this past weekend, I lost sight in that one too.  I have Diabetic Cataracts in both eyes and cannot see.  My mommy  and daddy quickly puppy proofed the pool because I kept wanting to walk right in.  So, now I am safe!  I am just learning where things are in the house and outside and trying to figure out how to get in and out of the doggy door and find my way to go potty on my own.  I’m eating good and getting my insulin on time, but I still bump into things a lot.

The doggy ophthalmologist says that once my diabetes is regulated they can do cataract surgery and I could most likely see again.  My mommy & daddy really want to give me that chance to see again since I am still young!  Surgery, however, is going to be over $5000 again plus more meds!  In addition to that they have to pay for weekly diabetes testing and my insulin and special food again.  My mom and dad used so much of their savings and credit cards last time, I think they need help, but they didn’t want to ask.  They just got engaged last year and are supposed to be getting married next year.  And next year, my human sister starts college and the year after that my human brother goes too.  My parents need money for them too.  Last night I heard my mom tell my dad that they should cancel the wedding to use that money for me, since their wedding is a day and my sight will be for my life.  I don’t want them to have to do that, they’ve waited so long, so I am asking for help for them.  They say they will find a way, but I know there has got to be lots of people out there that could help.  I know they will do anything they can to make me all better, and I want to do anything I can to help them too, especially since they have spent so much money on me already.

If you can help at all, we would all really appreciate it.  Please help pay for me to get new eyes and maybe even replenish their savings funds to use for my siblings college tuition and their upcoming wedding.  They are high school sweethearts that reconnected and getting married after over 20 years.  They were always meant to be, just not then.  My daddy is a retired soldier with over 20 years  in the Army and with five deployments.  My mom has two beautiful children.   Now, they are meant to share the rest of their lives together starting their next chapter, and I want to be able to actually see that happen!

Thank you all for considering to help me and my family.
