BABY BENTLEY ALEXANDER EVANS

Bentley Alexander was born at 29 weeks. His parents, Ben and Ashley, are members at Temple Baptist Church in Powell, TN. Ben is a firefighter in Knoxville, TN. They were in Minnesota visiting Ashley's parents for Christmas when Ashley started bleeding and went into pre-term labor. She was admitted to the Saint Cloud hospital which is an hour away from her parents’ home. After stopping the labor temporarily with anti-delivery and labor drugs, the doctors ordered her to rest to keep the baby from being born until he was full term. Bentley, however, had different ideas. Days later, Bentley tried again. No one was stopping him this time. He won the battle and as you can see, he has been all smiles ever since. 

So far things are looking very good. He's above average with his breathing and development for a baby born at that stage, but he’s still got a long way to go.  And the Evans family is a long way from home. There's a place for parents next to the hospital that they can stay in (Gorecki Guest House) but it's $45 per night.  Given that Bentley is supposed to be in the hospital for another 11 weeks, it's going to get pricey for them. Even if he is released early, there are other expenses involved with Bentleys’ entry to this world. As Ben and Ashley are staying in Minnesota with Bentley (of course) they are not able to work;  so they're going to need some help.

Bentley's appearance actually  preempted all of his baby showers.   So his parents were not prepared to bring a baby home with them to Tennessee,  and have yet to purchase everything they will need for the nursery, travelling, etc (such as a car seat for the long drive home).

Bentley's parents know nothing about this fund drive yet, but we, the family,  wanted to set up this page and ask anybody out there to please chip in if and how they can towards Baby Bentley’s needs. Thank you for reading.
