Xavia's Post Apocalyptic Carnival

ABOUT ME: I am an independent fashion designer, stylist and a visual artist. For several years I have been working on my creative portfolio, being a mom, and running my own local/web business,
Discerpo. Necto. Decrepitus.
I have focused on designing and creating unique handmade wearable art to customers with alternative tastes. I like to work in a dark fantasy medium and I spend most of my workday painting, sewing, and building a visual portfolio that ties them all together. I work with professional and independent models, photographers and artists, and over the years we’ve explored everything from “Alice in Wonderland” themed shoots to Steampunk fashion modeling and beyond. Aside from participating in local fashion shows ,I’m also branching into cross-promotional ventures with bands, businesses and numerous other fashion and art oriented projects.

THE PROJECT: After years of experience and hard work, I’m currently in the process of creating my biggest and most involved work to date. The Post-Apocalyptic Carnival is going to involve everything from promotional videos to new clothing designs and original artwork. The goal is to use a synthesis of film, photography, fashion and art to create a vivid and imaginative line of products and shoots designed to enchant and entertain new fans and old customers alike. It is my hope to continue catering to those like-minded individuals with a taste for all things strange and beautiful, and to expand on my current efforts as a hardworking, independent designer.

GET INVOLVED: The two greatest challenges that independent artists and designers face are organizing and funding new and exciting projects. It’s a rare occasion when everyone involved in a project can take time from their busy schedules to show up for several hours of photography and modeling, and it’s a rare occasion when a project can reflect the intended vision of the artist due to shortages in funding or encountering technical problems. One of the most important parts of this project will be the integration of technical aspects such as photography, filming, and editing in order to streamline the creative process and bring the best possible results to the audience and customers. This means that Discerpo. Necto. Decrepitus. will need some extra funding for professional equipment such as cameras and editing software, as well as additional funding for art and clothing materials to help make the vision a reality.

THANK YOU: In addition to the large amount of free promotional material that will be made available on the web (scantily clad ladies of the dark, anyone?), I’ll be offering everything from original artwork to personal photo shoots to high quality clothing to those who donate to the project! This means that you too can be a part of the Carnival, in addition to supporting the hardworking efforts of models and artists who want nothing more than to share their strange and wonderful talents with the world. Thank you for your time and thank you especially for supporting hardworking independent artists worldwide! Stay strange!

Thank you in advance.
