I Am Ready to Publish My First Book

If you already know me, then you probably know how much I love to write. Since I was a little girl I have always wanted to be a writer.

My sister, who is the only one who read the first early attempts, encouraged me to continue to go for it. For that I will forever be grateful.

In highschool I wrote poetry, kept a journal and wrote for the school news paper. I took Advanced Placement English Liturature which I loved.

In college I took Honors English Classes, and I continued to write. I maintained a bit of a blog for a while and I still appreciate all the supportive words I recieve from friends.

I worked at a California Community College as a counselor for a while, and I took more creative writing and English classes.

I recently wrote a short, easy to digest book on attending California Community College. It is geared toward helping new students succeed which is what I did every day in the counseling office. I loved the feeling of knowing I made a difference in students' lives.

This little book is pretty much everything I wish someone would have told me about attending college when I was seventeen. I got the chance to help thousands of students while I was working as a counselor, and it was a really awesome experience. I feel like the book might be able to really help some students.

So, at this point I am ready to publish it. I am nervous and excited, and it feels amazing. I have been researching publishing for months. I have found ways to make my book available in print and as an ebook for little out of pocket cost. Anything I can raise towards the cost of paying someone far more techno-savvy than myself to format the book and design a cover will be helpful.
