Please Help The Cordell Family

On December 19, 2018 in the early part of the morning a fire broke out in my Mother and Stepfather's house in Cloquet, Minnesota. You might remember this tragedy was on all the local area TV and Radio broadcasts. According to the Cloquet Fire Department the fire broke out in the kitchen.

The kitchen and part of the main floor area is destroyed, there was also a lot of smoke damage in the rest of the house.

My stepfather Shawn was at work, and my mother was asleep upstairs. The dogs Scooby and Banjo found my mother and insistently woke her up.  As soon as Terri realized what was going on she lead the way out of the house.

She had stumbled blindly barely able to breath through the thick black smoke down the stairs and out the back door that's in the kitchen area. The dogs had followed her to the kitchen area, but were too afraid to follow her out the back door. Unfortunately, they didn't make it out, along with the cat known as Crazy, and Tweety, the Parakeet.

I have no doubt in my mind if it hadn't been for the brave actions of Scooby and Banjo my mother wouldn't be with us today. Terri was found in the back yard in shock and was transported to St. Mary's hospital, which is where Shawn met up with her. At that point she was then transferred to Essentia Miller Dwan Burn/Intensive Care Unit. She is still there. Thankfully, she will be okay, but Terri does have a long road of recovery to go.

They do have insurance, however, they will also have a large amount of other bills coming up, medical and so on. I would like for them to have a little cushion to help pay for those bills. We'd appreciate any amount that you can contribute. We need these funds as soon as possible to help provide the smoothest transition period for both Terri and Shawn, once my mother is released from the hospital.

Thank you in advance from the Cordell family, and myself. May you and your families have a very Merry Christmas and wonderful New Year, many blessing to you all!
