Kitten's Medical Bills

Donation protected

Margaret and Emeric started fostering cats in January 2014. They had several wonderful cats that they wanted to adopt but ultimately failed as fosters for this cute sibling duo. Elsa and Little Dude (formerly Olaf) were kept together by the shelter because LD was the runt of the litter and needed a little extra TLC.

"We started fostering them in April (at about 4-5 weeks old) and ended up adopting them by the end of the first week of June. Instead of getting each other `things' as our wedding presents, we decided to gift each other the kittens, hoping that they would grow together with us as we started to build a family of our own."

"Unfortunately, Little Dude started getting sick last week. We thought it was nothing but after two trips to the vet we found out that LD had a severe intestinal blockage (an intussusception) that could only be corrected through a costly surgical procedure."

"We were faced with a complicated financial and emotional decision, and chose to go forward with the procedure to save Little Dude and hopefully keep him an active and vibrant part of our lives for many years to come."

This is where their friends are stepping in to help. We met LD shortly before all this happened. He is the most loving kitten we've ever seen, as evidenced by our just-in-the-door snuggle.

We would love to get their feline medical bills paid for them and allow them to have a happy wedding (in a couple weeks). Now, between the surgery and the vet bills leading up to it, this talented couple of music teachers racked up quite a bit in debt pretty fast--while trying to figure out which expenses were more important to put on the card. We'd love for them to have as good a start to their new life as they do to their family.

Explaining a little about the bills:
More information about intussusception is here. Since Elsa is LD's sibling, we are worried that she might have similar problems. Any funds raised over the initial amount will go to pet insurance so that the two kittens can live a happy, healthy life with their adoptive family.
