Kitties Need Urgent Help!

Donation protected
In Croatia, cats get mistreated and abandoned all the time and have a very slim chance of survival. If they are sent to shelters, there simply is not enough room to keep them nor funds to protect them and so they get put down if they are not adopted in a certain amount of time. In an undeveloped country even those places are shady and horror stories can be found from people talking of their experiences with them.

My family has spent our entire lives saving cats that came our way. We've taken in kittens to already mature cats, whether rescue or saving them from being abandoned by owners who couldnt take care of them anymore. Unfortunately, in an economy like this money is increasingly tight and the cats we have now are all special need cats.

These are the current cats in our care:
(Our cats are more special than the names we give them jokingly)
Baby Cat (black kitten in the picture), an approximately 8 week old kitten who we rescued from the verge of death. When we found him, he was without a mother for two days and after we were sure she was not returning we took him to our home. After a check-up with the vet we discovered he has a feline herpes disease which is a life long affliction with no cure. It took the vision from his right eye as he already had severe symptoms when we found him and could not see in either eye. We want to keep him because it is already hard to find a good home for a cat to get adopted into when its healthy kittens in question. A poor baby like him will never get taken in here.

Guy Cat (striped cat in the picture), he is 6 years old and was found abandoned in a creek down our street. meaning someone had thrown him into it to die. His 6 years of life have been extremely tough and expensive, and he is a special needs cat who has to live on an expensive veterinary diet for the rest of his life due to urinary tract illness. He has seen the vet's office many, many times.

Girl Cat (the siamese in the picture), a 12 year old cat in the last phase of her life. A couple wanted her out of their home after she was with them for 6 years and after no one was answering their ad we decided to take her. Despite the clear evidence she was very abused in that household, instead of mistrusting us she proved to be the sweetest cat we had ever known, overly attached to humans and a lot more cuddily than expected from a Siamese. She has lived a quiet and calm life sleeping and cuddling for the past 6 years until three days ago when she suddenly fell ill. At this point she is staying overnight at the vet on an infusion but the vet is not optimistic at all and we are aware of what that means. There is only a slim chance for her to survive and we have already desperately agreed to expensive bloodwork. If she dies, which she most likely will due to her age and organs shutting down, the vet is obligated by law to not let the animal be released back to owners which breaks our hearts.

Looking for a solution, we found out that a nearby city has a service which cremates pets and returns owners their ashes after picking up the animal from the vet and this is a way for our cat to return home where she belongs. Unfortunately, the price for our standards in Eastern Europe is high and vet bills for recently found Baby Cat as well as veterinary diet for Guy cat took a lot of money.

We are trying on all sides to find funds to pay the current vet bill and possible cremation service so she can come back to us and stay here forever. And if by some miracle she recovers these funds will go into her pending medical bills but we are aware that the worst is most likely happening.

With Baby Cat, a trusted friend online has offered to adopt him (even helped us set up this account) but neither of us simply has funds for something like an airplane ticket and vet fees for papers. If by any chance our goal is met, any extra money will go to baby cat adoption fund.

We sincerely want to protect cats that come into our lives, they deserve that much. We hope its in your hearts to help us through this incredibly hard time. Your donations no matter how small will make a huge difference in these cat's lives.
