I am sadden to annouce that on July 7, 2014, "Nippy Lavern Fashions" officially closed it's doors at 384 Tompkins Avenue, in Brooklyn, NY. With only $400 and a dream, fresh out of college with a Bachelor's Degree in Business, I was able to open my boutique in 2010.
After working 3 jobs to keep the doors open while maintaining the boutique. My world was crushed on July 2, 2014, when I saw my entire store flooded with water and my ceiling caving in from a severe storm. Majority of my merchandise was damaged beyond repair! I have dealt with similar circumstances in the past but for as long as I have been there I have never seen anything like this before! Unfortunately, This event had forced us to close our doors.
However, I refuse to give up on my dream, passion and dedication to the Nippy Lavern Brand and YOU (my loyal customers).
This is why The Nippy Lavern Brand and I NEED your help to raise funds so that we can open a brand new location in our hometown borough Brooklyn!!!! ABOUT NIPPY LAVERN Charismatic, fierce, talented and of course “Fashionista” are just a few words most people use to describe Jessica Martin, founder and creator of Nippy Lavern Fashions. Born and raised in “the best city in the world” – Brooklyn New York is also the birth place of her popular Nippy Lavern Fashions Boutique. As a rising star in New York’s fashion landscape Jessica Martin has participated in over 130 fashion shows and has executed dozens of photo shoots since 2010. Martin has currently made clothing for stars on VH1, various rap and music artists and on the rise to dress more. Nippy Lavern Fashions was named after an extraordinary young woman named Darlene “Nippy Lavern” Taylor, Martin’s aunt, whose life was shortened in a car accident by a drunk driver at only 22 years old in 1988. The Allan Houston Foundation awarded Nippy Lavern Fashions with an award as one of the top 5 hardest working businesses in development on April 17th of 2008; In remembrance of the great Darlene “Nippy Lavern” Taylor, the founding date of Jessica’s company is proudly recognized on Nippy’s birthday.
