Hi, my name is Rene. Born and raised in Hawaii. At the age of 6, I was placed into foster care and moved an average of 3 months. As a teenager, home options were very limited and few. The instability of my youth gave me the dream of owning a house.
Believing that I accomplished that dream, a house in Hawaii was purchased with my then husband. However, due to a divorce and high cost of living, I released it to his care. With a modest life savings, I moved my family to Arizona.
Here in Arizona I have built a small online business, Stills of Time. Earning a small profit with strong growth. I am living within my means providing for my family and not receiving welfare assistance. Most of my time is spent handling the business and taking care of my autistic son, Darian.
Meet Darian, a boy with a fantastic abstract mind. He is a high functioning autistic teenager who loves building with Legos and playing the bassoon. Diagnosed late at 14 and denied medical coverage for several years, life has been a real struggle for him. Moving away from his home in Hawaii to Arizona is an ongoing traumatic experience. Living in Arizona has onset his selective mutism and catatonic episodes outside of home.
The Wondrous Elisha, our hardworking artist and straight A student. You can find her under stacks of paper, drawing and writing anime stories. A girl who is determined to visit Sweden and Japan one day. For a time she created short films that brought hours of laughter. With your gift of $25, you can own her art work. Each piece is one of a kind and created all by her imagination.
Joined in our family are the rescued furries. Peanut, is a rumbustious miniature pinscher. She came from the island of Hawaii and rescued from being left at the local dump site. Leia, is a sweet curious girl who naps in Darian's bed. She was found by the Humane Society alone and wandering on a military base. These dogs have been part of our family for years and moved with us from Hawaii.
