Need Engine Work

Ever since I returned to San Diego and was able to do repairs on my 1991 Chevy Silverado 1500 I have hit snags.  My truck is my means to get to work and pick up my daughter from school.  I was working full-time hours in a part-time position but our hours recently got cut and my plans have been compromised.  I need my truck but I want to make it safe for my daughter.  Any help is greatly appreciated.  God Bless.
