Our Vision
My family of 5 are going to be taking a cross-country road trip visiting family and friends across the USA & Calgary Canada. Along the way stoping at different landmarks, big cities, and everything in-between.
It started as a thought of visiting family in the Mid-West, and then maybe seeing friends along the way. As we started to plan the trip and different spots, we quikly realized that God was wanting to do more with our little family.
One of the main purposes for this trip will be exploring the idea of community. 'What is community?' will be the underlying question we will be asking ourselves, and the people we meet.
There is a generation that is hungry for community, but aren't sure what they are really looking for. My wife and I are passionate about true authentic relationships and community. We have been privileged to be a part of some amazing communities over the years and feel our mission is to share what we have learned. It’s actually really simple. It’s just being available, and willing to listen.
We are hoping to partner with some amazing people and organizations that, we believe, are doing great things to better this world we live in. There is so much good happening, but all we seem to hear about is the bad. We want to, on some small level, try to balance out [or at least highlight] more of the positive things that are going on.
We want to host meet ups in different cities, as we travel the states, asking people to do what they can to help their communities. Maybe bring blankets, clothes, food, etc. We will gather for a few hours to have a conversation about community, thankfulness, and authenticity. The goal of these meet ups are not only to gather people, but to connect people locally in their communities. We would also like to share a bit of our own personal story. The journey of faith & trust that God has been taking us on in our search for community.
We are inviting people to join us on the road via, blog, social media, and other various forms of media.
If you want to be a part of helping us on this journey, please feel free to donate what you can. We are going to need gas, food, lodging [certain places], parking, park fees, etc.
Any money we raise, above our goal will be used to bless the people and the organazations we are working with across different cities.
As we travel around the country we will be sharing stories of what we, because of your generosity, were able to do in those places.
